The IBS system consists of two sensor pods and an evaluation unit (MCU). The sensor pods use passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect human motion within the protection zone. The MCU checks individual safety input and output signals at startup and continuously monitors them for proper function during operation. When an operator’s limb or body enters the protection zone, the system immediately triggers an emergency stop that instantly shuts down the equipment to prevent potential harm. Velatech has been using this system for approximately two years and has successfully sold over 23 units to various clients, all of whom are satisfied with its performance.

One such client was awarded the prestigious John T. Ryan Safety Technology Award for Innovation last year for using the IBS system on their drills.
