Orica (ASX: ORI), announced the release of its latest OREPro™ 3D Predict modelling software that predicts blast movement in near real-time and optimises grade control value.
FREMONT, CA: The development of OREProTM 3D Predict, a near real-time blast movement simulator and grade control polygon optimizer that builds on the strength of Orica's original OREProTM 3D modelling expertise. With the addition of the enhanced predictive SmartVectorTM technology, it took more than 30 years of research and development (R&D) and significant cloud-based computing power.
By using OREProTM 3D Predict, blast planners can now iteratively construct their blasts and quantify the value of each one rather than depending on luck or simple rules of thumb to optimise blasting for grade control. Sophisticated physics-based algorithms forecast movement dynamics throughout the whole blast volume to produce a swollen post-blast grade control block model using easily available mine data as inputs, including blast designs and in-situ block models. Then, the delineations that can help attain the best value feasible will be suggested by the polygon optimisation tools. The mission of Orica is to sustainably mobilise the earth's resources. To accomplish this, they integrate end-to-end processes throughout the mining value chain, but it all begins with a deeper understanding of the orebody and how it moves throughout extraction. Instead of waiting until the bomb is excavated to understand the effects, the customers can now estimate blast results, allowing designers to quickly develop blasts that increase value in close to real-time.

Effective ore and waste separation and downstream mining process efficiency depend on knowing where the rock mass has migrated during the blast. By simulating post-blast topography when it cannot be safely surveyed, managing complex boundary conditions with ease, and animating the whole expected movement, OREProTM 3D Predict goes a step further. By enabling customers to efficiently plan and track material through intricate interactions with the underlying geology, OREProTM 3D Predict further improves Orica's Digital Solutions capabilities. With a comprehensive grade control workflow solution, this product adds value for its customers and complements the top reactive software in the market, OREProTM 3D. It is a cornerstone of iterative optimization.
