Melting and casting
The raw material constituent of the stainless steel is kept together and melted in a giant electric furnace. The process starts with the application of intense heat into the furnace consistently for a period of almost 8-12 hours at a go. The melting process makes the raw materials into a semi-liquid form which can then be cast into the desired shapes and forms. The majority of the cast shapes include the presence of billets, slabs, rods, round tubes, and blooms.
Forming
The second stage of the process includes the semi-finished steel shapes undergoing a series of forming practices, such as the stainless steel is passed through a series of heating and passing through the enormous rolls, which is known as the hot rolling process. Blooms and billets obtained are converted into bars and wires, and the slabs, on the other hand, are converted into plates, strips, or sheets. The majority of the semi-finished products are turned into the bar as it is the most common shape in the making.
Heat treatment
Various forms of steel undergo annealing or heat treatment in which the stainless steel is heated and cooled under controlled environments. This is done to relieve the material of its accumulated stress and to make it suitable for a wide variety of applications.
